maggie is a magnificent cat.
she roams around the neighbourhood freely,
and often visits our house for treats and long afternoon naps.
she's nobody's "pet", she simply decides
- where to go,
- when to go, and
- how long she stays.
no discussions. no permission required.
she's the boss.
yet we even have an armchair in the living-room just for her.
it sits empty when maggie's not here,
and it is always ready when she arrives.
and every day my mum keeps an alert ear expecting her...
she often gets disappointed if maggie decided not to show up.
maggie never apologises because in the end she has done nothing wrong.
her grace, pride, and dignity has earned our ultimate respect.
