it is a new shopping mall in Shanghai - and its interiors is inspired from the casinos in the gambling capital - Macau, or ultimately, Vegas - where grand, gold, and flashy columns sprout from layers of frilled levels to a grand glass roof, and the venu houses any label under the sun - from the trendy to the up-market: Zara, H&M, Marks & Spencer, TopShop, Gucci, Calvin Klein ...
on a cold and polluted day (which is 90% of the time), every man and his dog is hanging out in this man-made utopia - protected from the poisoned air and harsh weather outside.
there is even an kids play area with trampolines, where each child is strapped from the waist, and attached to the parent via a suspension rope. they can jump freely on the trampoline, to the maximum length of the rope, held relentlessly by the attending adult(s), while they take photos with their phones.
others merely get overwhelmed by the sheer size and grandness of the place, and take the advantage of its security for a nap in the cafe...
