I stayed in Hobart's historic Battery Point, that reminded me of a sleepy European town...
my first meal was at this lovely cafe, Jackman & McRoss, where the locals enjoyed a good catch up in its warm interiors.
Missus the cat welcomed me at my my hostel, Montacute Boutique Bunkhouse, a beautifully refurbished house with lots of character.

the interiors is comfortable and cosy, with warm furnishings and carefully arranged ornaments.

I went for a stroll in Battery Point, discovering delightful gardens and stone houses.

the next day, I went to MONA via the ferry

MONA - a combination of Scandinavian modern style,
Australian mining scene, Brutalist architecture and hilltop retreat ... a little over indulged in some ways but nevertheless an interesting place to visit.
this brave girl is feeding the food machine a 3 course meal, which will digest the food the exact same way as humans do, and "process" its meal out the other end ... let's just say the odour was very empowering.

lush greens
killer hills
spectacular blossoms
anything old
and of course, precious architectural gems
then definitely pay Hobart a visit
just don't forget your coat and umbrella!
